Kimball Arts Festival: Park City, UT | Aug 7-9

For 3 days, see Park City Main Street at its absolute best with this USA TODAY 10BEST arts festival. Nearly 200 jury-selected artists representing 13 mediums are featured, along with two stages hosting local musicians. In addition to general admission, the festival offers VIP passes to an indoor arts lounge and bar. 

Sun Valley Arts & Crafts Festival: Ketchum, ID | Aug 14-16

A free-to-attended outdoor festival in the Idaho mountains offering artist booths, live music, and food trucks.

Art in the High Desert: Bend, OR | Aug 28-30

A visual arts showcase and selling event consistently ranked in the top 25 selling art shows in the nation.

Art in the Pearl: Portland, OR | Sept 5–7

Portland’s largest outdoors arts fair features artists from across the region. This artist-run event features artist booths, educational craft demos, and hands-on activities for all ages.

Park City is a beautiful mountain town, and there’s plenty of affordable fun to be had if you know where to look! 

$6 – Park City Gardens Coffee and Greenhouse

Get a treat and explore the cutest greenhouse, plant nursery, home goods shop, and cafe. Don’t miss the stream out back! Follow the calming tones. The huge wind chime and honey beehive combine to make the most soothing sound.

$20 – Thrift the Christian Center

There are two sides: the thrift side and the boutique side. Your money is well spent at both. Park City thrifting is great for gear, decor, and Western wear.

$15 – Kimball Arts Festival (August 7-9) 

Admission gets you access to nearly 200 artist booths, 2 stages featuring local musicians and dancers, and art activities for kids AND adults. Parking can be a little tricky, but free shuttles from the resort and high school parking lots make getting to Main Street way easier. It’s the best weekend to explore Main Street Park City, hands down.

$7-8 – Alberto’s Mini Burrito

Probably the best meal deal you can get in Park City. Any of their massive, tasty burritos can be made “mini”—they’re still plenty big for a meal. When they ask for sauce, get the green salsa. 

$15 – Park City Museum

Learn about how a mining town became a skiing town with exhibits, videos, and even a visit to the old town jail.

Free – Take the hiking shuttle

Fun fact: the buses in Park City are all free! Unfun fact: the fantastic Blood’s Lake hike has very limited parking. The solution: take the purple shuttle 9 to Bloods Lake Fri-Sun or up to Deer Valley all week long.

$10 – See a local musician

Mountain Town Music keeps Park City’s restaurants and bars full of local musicians every day, all summer long. Check out their website to see who’s playing when you’re in town.

Bonus: Free – Visit Kimball Art Center

Experience world-class art at Park City’s contemporary art museum. Some art pieces are interactive! There are 5 galleries featuring world-renowned contemporary artists in a huge range of experimental mediums. Open Tues–Sun, 10 AM–5 PM.

Park City is an amazing summer mountain town. For locals, this is the best season. There’s a huge range of activities and events!

Concerts

In the summer, ski runs become front-row seats. Picnic with panache at the Deer Valley summer concert series with the Utah Symphony, or rock out with Concerts on the Slopes at the Canyon’s amphitheater.

Kimball Arts Festival

Hike

Hike the hills of Park City Resort and Deer Valley to see the aspen groves, sagebrush, and wildlife. Take the adventure further with a drive up the seasonal Guardsman’s Pass to access Big Cottonwood Canyon hikes like Silver Lake, Willow Lake, and Donut Falls.

Lake Day

Swimming spots can be hard to come by in Utah, but Park City is just 20 minutes from the Jordanelle Reservoir! Rent boats, jet skis, paddle boards, and kayaks from the marina. Keep a lookout on the State Park page for nature learning events like telescope stargazing and naturalist walks.

Utah Olympic Park

Tour the 2002 Olympic Park, an official U.S. Olympic training site! Their Summer Gold Pass includes all-day access to ziplines, ropes courses, and extreme tubing (local IDs get a discount!).

Main Street Park City is home to over 50 restaurants, so whatever you’re craving, it’s here! For a 21+ dining experience, check out the High West Saloon for house-distilled whiskey and locally inspired mountain cuisine. Park City’s ‘The Locals’ Reddit does an annual restaurant rating.
