The Kimball Arts Festival is an opportunity to immerse your little ones into an incredible weekend filled with hands-on creativity for artists of every age. Whether your child loves to paint, build, explore, or simply get messy, there are plenty of opportunities to create, play, and discover throughout the festival.

Start at the Creation Station

Located just inside the East Heber Avenue entrance, the Creation Station is the perfect first stop for families. Throughout the weekend, kids and adults alike can jump into a variety of interactive art experiences inspired by Re(sounding), the current exhibition at the Kimball Art Center.

Quilts and Soundwaves: Zines & Community Quilt (Free)

Create your own personal zine! Make a small, handmade booklet filled with drawings, ideas, and creative experiments inspired by artists Mary Toscano and Andrew Rease Shaw. Then design your own quilt pattern using curves, triangles, squares, and lines that echo the shapes of soundwaves created by a synthesizer.
Every participant adds their design to a growing collaborative printed quilt, creating a community artwork that evolves throughout the festival!

Wearable Art!

Take home your own festival creation!

• Song-Inspired Bracelet ($3): What color is your favorite song? Choose beads that
  represent the sounds, feelings, and colors of music to create a one-of-a-kind bracelet inspired by artist Spencer Finch.
• Design Your Own Button ($3): Draw a picture, write a message, or create your own symbol before turning it into a wearable button.
• Enjoy both activities for just $5!

Take the Fest Quest!

Explore the festival through a one-of-a-kind scavenger hunt designed to help young visitors engage with artists and artwork throughout Main Street. Complete the clue card and return it to the Creation Station to earn a special prize!

Student Art Murals

Be sure to check out this summer’s Student Art Murals, created by sixth through eighth grade summer school students and teen artists (ages 13–17) participating in the Kimball Art Center’s summer camps.

The murals were created under the guidance of local artist Anna Nizhoni and
celebrate the creativity of Park City’s young artists.

Weekend Highlights

Each day offers something new for families:

• Friday (6–8 PM): Meet exhibition artists Mary Toscano and Andrew Rease Shaw at the Creation Station while they share inspiration behind the collaborative art activities.
• Saturday: Visit Miner’s Park to look at the tent hosted by the Young Artists’ Academy. Also view the clay showcase from Kimball Art Center’s advanced clay students and try your hand at throwing pottery on a real ceramic wheel.
• Sunday: Stop by the Creation Station for face painting and head home with colorful festival memories.

Visit the Young Artists’ Academy

Located in Miner’s Park, the Young Artists’ Academy (YAA) tent gives visitors the opportunity to see Park City’s next generation of artists in action. Meet talented local teens, explore their work, and learn more about the program that helps aspiring artists develop professional skills and creative confidence.

Family Fun Beyond the Art

Take a break between activities to explore Historic Main Street. Grab a sweet treat, browse local shops, or head to Après Alley at the top of Main Street, where food trucks, refreshments, and interactive beverage demonstrations (for parents!) create a lively gathering space for everyone.
