I begin with a 2-part epoxy resin, and add color to bring the adhesive to life. I pour and manipulate the mixture on a custom-made surface, apply heat using a blowtorch (to eliminate bubbles and enhance oil-based effects), and then leave it to cure. To bring structure and interest, I’ll sometimes add a layer of alcohol ink, acrylic, or metal leafing before applying a final clear coat. My book work adds assemblage in between layers to create works of art celebrating the strength of literature.
