Encaustic painting (painting with pigmented, melted beeswax) creates a lusciousness an depth that is unique, allowing for depth, translucency and unlimited possibilities. A piece can be smooth and luscious, or rich with texture and depth. The process of layering, heating, mark-making and extracting allows me to discover the what lies within each piece. I respond to what is organically happening and evolving. I search for alluring combinations of color and texture that juxtapose calm and complexity.
