The most important aspect of all my work is color. Although lines and patterns convey order and a consistency of process, the brushstrokes are secondary. I experiment with color relentlessly, both with individual shades and very specific combinations. I want my colors to evoke joy, warmth, laughter, imagination, possibilities, and hope. I want the first point of entry into my artistic vision to be color itself, and the many things it means to people from all walks of life and at every stage in their journey. I want my paintings to breathe in color, just like my Mexican culture.
